Go green!

Ý
Displayed on the street just in front of the John Deere Pavilion, a
fully restored 1959 Mack truck carries precious cargo...a mint Model D with plow.

A book-signing session inside the
Collectors Center on Saturday afternoon drew lots of Green Girl fans.
The upper level in the background
is the memorabilia display of the Collectors Center and the parts counter of Moline
Tractor & Plow. |

Ý
This unique contraption mounted on
a 730 tractor is actually an early one-row cotton picker.
A seat mounted to the rear of the
tractor means you actually drive it in reverse to pick the crop. |

Ý
Friday evening's auction of
memorabilia and toys went over very well.
The room was filled beyond
capacity with collectors looking for a piece of the past to add to their collections. |

Ý
John Deere isn't just about
tractors.
Implements came before the famous
green-and-yellow Johnny Poppers. On display outside the Moline Tractor & Plow
dealership, these beautifully restored antique implements range from a horsedrawn Van
Brunt grain drill (front) to a tractor binder (rear). |

Ý
A smaller scale semi also
transports Deere gear -- two pedal tractors and one large yellow bear sporting a JD hat.

 Ý
With its single front wheel
and mounted one-row cotton picker with overhead basket, this Model 730 tractor couldn't
keep up with the massive 6-row pickers made by John Deere today. |

Ý
Well-used on farms in the
Moline-Quad Cities area, this No. 127 corn picker is mounted to a styled Model B tractor. |

Ý
Distinctly Deere but different
too.
These two tractors span the years
but still are worthy of keeping an eye on the new Moline Tractor & Plow Co.
dealership. |
 Ý
Stationary engines are another
aspect of John Deere equipment that most people don't think about.
Here, a little engine powers a
water pump to fill the bucket below.
These working displays always draw
a crowd and fascinate fans both young and old. |
 Ý
Green was the primary color of the
weekend with hundreds of green and yellow tractors on display between the John Deere
Pavilion and new Collectors Center. |
