Air attack on America

In the aftermath of the terrible tragedy from last Tuesday (9/11/01), the Green Girl wanted to pay a respectful tribute to all those who lost their lives — and those who lost a loved one from their lives. fullflag.jpg (20628 bytes)

Because the event itself is unexplainable, let’s focus on uniting as proud, patriotic people. One nation, under God, indivisible! Let us rally around our flag, the symbol of our hard-fought freedom.

Please pray for the families and friends of the ones who were taken from us by these senseless acts. Also ask God to give guidance to our leaders politically so that President Bush and his staff may take appropriate military action in avenging such terrorist attacks on America.

Consider your ability to donate to the disaster relief funds. Join your local church, business, school or other organization in giving money and/or supplies to help the cause. Give blood to the Red Cross. Or just volunteer to help our fellow citizens in your own local community.

Thank a hero in your area today. Whether it’s a firefighter, police officer, EMT (emergency medical technician), or doctor…take a few minutes to show your appreciation for their brave career choice in helping to protect and save lives in this country.

And next time you choose to fly in an airplane, show some extra kindness to the pilots and flight attendants. You never know when they may be called upon to save your life. Travel with confidence and be grateful for the competence of airline industry employees when you land safely yet again.

God bless the USA!

I’m proud to be an American!

We shall overcome!

Next week we’ll look at how the airplane industry is connected to Deere with the Velie Monocoupe plane made in Moline around 1928.
