Start your e-shopping season early
Get your Deere gear here

Beat the Thanksgiving Day/after-turkey-trot at the malls and start e-shopping today for the perfect gift for your favorite green guy or gal!e tractorxmaslight.jpg (24365 bytes)

One way to hunt for that special piece of memorabilia, toy or antique tractor is to bid on eBay or another popular auction site. One quick search for "Deere" will find a long gift list to suit any price range.

You can find the newer collectibles as well as the old if you look hard enough! Just be careful not to out-bid the Green Girl (ID=farm-girl-writer)!

Another popular choice is to visit your local John Deere dealer. Chances are, they stock their shelves with more than just tractor parts.

Now that harvest is over in most areas of the U.S., dealers can turn their attention to gift sales instead of keeping the combines running. So stop in today and start shopping!

Look for the Deere dealer nearest you

However, if you don’t live near a John Deere dealer (like the Green Girl), you can pay a virtual visit to any one you want. e shoppingcart.anim.gif (1816 bytes)

All of them have websites of some sort by now and many have extensive on-line offerings, including gifts and collectibles.

Happy Deere Hunting this Holiday Season!

Hendren's is Deere heaven

One of the best at this business is Hendren’s in Indiana.e logo-marketers-choice-635x130.gif (34369 bytes)

This Indiana dealership does Deere gear in a big way with what they claim is the largest on-line John Deere shopping site. And after browsing through their virtual aisles, I’d have to agree! e store-display-left.jpg (41155 bytes)

Not only does the real bricks & mortar store have stocked shelves, but the website’s extensive listings also give you instant access to all things green and yellow!

Categories include the standards like toys and clothing but also home dÈcor, birthday party supplies, and even lawn sprinklers!

The friendly folks designed a great site that’s real easy to use and will help you find whatever you’re after with a Deere logo!

Tell Joni that the Green Girl sent ya!

More genuine Deere gear

From the fine folks at Deere & Company comes the official John Deere Mall. While it may not seem to have as much as Hendren’s, it does offer a large assortment of official merchandise.

A new redesign makes it a little easier to shop, too. jdbookstore.jpg (18387 bytes)

Get the hat, shirt or jacket to look your best with that famed leaping-deer logo. From apparel and accessories, the new site puts a lot of choices within reach.

And you can even get it gift wrapped in green & yellow!

If you register with them, you get some added shopping goodies too, like an address book, wish list and order tracking.

Ertl. When it comes to farm toys (especially green ones), nobody does it bigger or better than Ertl.

e kids.gif (7469 bytes)Their toy replica tractors and implements have been entertaining young farm kids for generations.

Coming in a close second would be Ertl’s Dyersville twin, SpecCast, who also makes replica Deere tractors in diecast and pewter.

Farm Goods For Kids compiles a great list of creative choices for kids gifts, including videos, educational games, plush animals and John Deere Kids branded items.

Here are a few of the others at the top of the list:

Other diehard Deere fans have created an entire business out of selling John Deere merchandise. The Morgan family from Clarksville, Arkansas is a great example!
