Merry Christmas to all green guys & gals!

The Green Girl would like to wish all the John Deere enthusiasts a very "green" holiday! x jdxmasstuff.jpg (23416 bytes)

May you find gobs of green goodies under the tree this year! For those procrastinators who need to do some last-minute shopping on Christmas Eve, here are a few good "green" gifts to wrap up this holiday.

Deck the halls

You can have a truly "green" Christmas tree decorated with John Deere tractor lights and ornaments. There’s no shortage of choices so pick your favorite. You can have Model A, B, D or 4020 tractors for strands of lights. Ornaments run the gamut from plastic tractors to pewter medallions and everything in between.

The infamous John Deere Christmas ornament from 1996 can cost way more than the tree so maybe you’d like to get the other years in the series first! There’s an entire set selling on eBay right now. The price is just over $600 and the reserve isn’t met yet!x jdxmas00_01.jpg (11202 bytes)

I heard the bells

What John Deere Christmas collectible would be complete without the ability to play a Christmas carol? Several items do play music…like the holiday snow globe scene with a motorized delivery truck going in a circle…or the fuzzy reindeer who dances. They’re sure to amuse and entertain John Deere fans both young and old!

Deer Santa

Thanks to Enesco’s John Deere Friends line or the Mary Moo Moos, there are scores of Christmas collectible figurines sporting a John Deere cap or tractor. x jdxmascoin.JPG (3872 bytes)

Stocking stuffers

And you’ll find all kinds of smaller-sized treats to stuff in a stocking too. From the medallions and silver rounds to ornaments and other items, a John Deere fan’s stocking could be overflowing with fun!x jdfboysanta.jpg (12061 bytes)

Bargain basement

Best of all, most of these items can be found for under $20 and most of them are available at less than 10 bucks. Not bad for something with the famed leaping deer on it! Of course, the best time to buy any of these John Deere Christmas items will be on Wednesday, December 26th--the day after. A busy shopping day for sales, especially for Christmas decorations and holiday-themed things.

So if you don’t find enough of what you want under the tree this year, hit the stores to stock up for a truly "green" Christmas in 2002!

Happy Holidays!
