All set for another amazing all-green auction?
Meet up in Moline August 9 to 10, 2002

While you won’t be seeing The Green Girl there, you still shouldn’t miss the main event for John Deere fans!

Representing one of the earliest logos dating back to the leaping deer's debut in 1876, this stenciled design can be found on the wooden beam of an early horsedrawn plow.

The third annual All-Green Auction is slated for next weekend (August 9th and 10th) in Moline, Illinois, at the restored Moline Tractor & Plow Co. 1950s style dealership.

Expect to see large crowds of green guys and gals (10,000 last year alone) hungry to hunt down a Deere deal on an antique tractor (either restored or ready for it), memorabilia, toys and other green goodies.

The first fun you should plan for is to attend the Toys & Memorabilia Auction on Friday night starting at 5 pm. This year, it’s at the air-conditioned Mark auditorium across the street from last year’s overcrowded and overheated location.

From what I hear, you’ll be able to bid on an extensive offering of top-notch collectibles all available in one auction! Toys of all kinds, plus pocket ledgers, Furrow magazines, operator manuals, bicycles, watch fobs, signs, and so much more can be found here.

The second stop you should make is at the Tractor Auction starting Saturday morning at 10:30 am just outside the Moline Tractor & Plow dealership.

There’s a long list of oldies but goodies to go to good homes so don’t miss out on this entertaining event. Each year, the top-dollar tractor brings in a mint amount that will make your jaw drop!

In the neighboring parking lot between Moline Tractor & Plow and the famed Pavilion/Commons, you’ll see an impressive display of 150 antique tractors, implements, engines, pedal tractors and more. Meet the people whose painstaking efforts went into renovating these relics. They’ll gladly answer any questions you might have about how the machine works, its age, and the fun they had restoring it.

Then, in case you haven’t had enough exposure to all things green, stop by the Plow City Farm Toy Show & Auction now held at the nearby Mark on John Deere Commons for the first time.

Ý

The Green Girl had her own booth last year, and this year you can find her book at the JD Store or the Collectors Center store.

Ý

Starting Saturday, August 10th at 3:30 pm, this big-time auction of quality farm toys hosted by toy guru Eldon Trumm will bring out the kid in anyone!

For a John Deere fan, this coming weekend is the Super Bowl or the World Series for the sport of collecting green gear! Don’t miss out on the chance to see one-of-a-kind, really rare items, meet many new friends, renew past friendships, and talk tractors nonstop!

The Green Girl will not be in attendance this year due to a fast-growing baby in her belly that could come out early thanks to all the excitement of the events! Have fun for me please!

And be sure to ask for my highly popular JOHN DEERE COLLECTIBLES book (The Bible of John Deere Collecting) at the John Deere Store or Collectors Center store. They’d better have plenty in stock as it tends to sell out fast when JD fans find it!
