 clock

The age of this antique alarm clock may be suspicious despite its copyright date of 1921.

 scale

This scale appears to be as old as the Model A, Model B, Model MC Crawler, and Model AO Orchard tractors on its face. Yet its origins are suspect.

Lalonda made this special horsedrawn plow scene out of brass to celebrate Deere's 150th Anniversary in 1987.

 paperweight

This very old glass paperweight from the John Deere Plow Company of Kansas City features unique red, gold and orange colors.

 flyswatter

A crude flyswatter and battery strap are examples of the more unique dealer promotional items collectible today.

 ashtray

This is an interesting ashtray design from the Spreader Works in 1967.

Pearl fobJohn Deere offered a fine series of Genuine Mississippi River Baroque Pearl watch fobs from the late 1920s to early 1930s. Both the badge and the buckle are made of a delicate Mother of Pearl material, which explains why many fobs found today are chipped on the edges or missing the buckle. Another common problem is that the leather strap has often been creased and folded enough to tear off. Replacing a strap is a simple repair, so realize that some straps will look much newer as a result. There are several variations of the leaping deer so study fobs carefully.

Pocket watches were also popular promotional gifts. This ornate one features a beautiful scene on the outside with the John Deere face inside.
